Competitive Team Tryouts

To be considered for a competitive team for our 2024/2025 season, please complete the Tryouts Registration form below, and a Coach from your relevant age group will contact you.

Girls Evaluations Supplemental Tryouts Schedule

Forward-thinking soccer clubs compete in various leagues to ensure the highest level of integrity and competition for all players and levels. Hollywood FC competes in almost every League in Florida.

Does my child need to try out?

Tryouts are required for any new players joining an ELITE, PREMIER or SELECT team!

If you do not make an ELITE team, you will be evaluated for a PREMIER or SELECT team, and if, in the coach's opinion, your athlete needs to develop more skills before joining a competitive team, you will be invited to play on a GRAY/BLACK recreational team.

Some kids are too young for Tryouts: PK Soccer is for 2 and 3-year-olds (born 2021-2022) – NO TRYOUTS
Recreational Soccer welcomes players of all skill levels 4, 5 and 6-year-olds NO TRYOUTS, Register for GRAY Team (with weekend games) or Academy Training Only Program (no games)
When everyone plays, we all WIN!
If at any time during the season you feel like challenging yourself please contact one of our Directors for a late tryout (space permitting).

When are Tryouts for 2024/25 Seasonal Year?

Pursuant to FYSA Rule 401.6, the FYSA Board of Directors determined that tryouts for the 2024/2025 season can be held no earlier than the first Monday in May, 2024 - which is 5/6/2024.

Hollywood FC will hold SUPPLEMENTAL TRYOUTS until all teams are full. Do not delay your tryout or registration so that your child does not miss their spot on the team.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS MANDATORY

Tryouts ensure the highest level of integrity and competition for all players and levels
Our commitment is to place players based on overall individual and team development needs
To be considered for a team for our 2024/2025 season which runs from September 2024 thru June 2025, you must pre-register for tryouts in advance
PRE-REGISTER HERE - You will receive an automated email.
We'll look at your registration information and assign you to the proper tryout, come out as per schedule below, unless you receive an email/call advising you of a different day/time.
If you do not hear from anyone or receive any emails or text within 7 days please contact Coach Tom - Executive Director by email.

BOYS

Unlike other clubs, our goal is to develop and retain our players. We don't go crazy at tryouts looking to get players to switch clubs every year.

GIRLS

We strongly feel that every girls needs to be evaluated before choosing a team as the soccer landscape changes annually. (see below)

Most tryouts happened in May/June - It is not too late to join a team, but you have to tryouts as soon as possible, register as soon as possible and order you uniform immediately in order to not miss the first games in September.

Supplemental Tryouts CONTINUE UNTIL TEAMS ARE FULL
Our Supplemental Tryouts will allow players to play and showcase their soccer skills in front of our HFC Coaching Staff. They will be held during scheduled practices for any players unable to attend the May tryouts.
DO NOT COME TO TRYOUTS IF YOU DID NOT PRE-REGISTER FOR FREE TRYOUTS, YOU CANNOT PARTICIPATE, WE CANNOT INVITE YOU TO THE TEAM, WE DO NOT HAVE A WAY OF CONTACTING YOU - PRE-REGISTER HERE

WHERE -park specified in the table below
DATE/TIME - specified in the table below (weather permitting)
WEAR - any white top, regular grass cleats, shin-guards
HOW - check-in at the office, have your photo taken. (upload the birth certificate)

WHAT IF:

"Can I come multiple days?" - yes, but only if the coach asks to see you again. Once we invite you to the team, you have to stop coming to tryouts and need to accept your registration to continue.
Bad weather - no worries, try to come anyway; South Florida weather changes quickly.
No longer interested - email tom@hollywoodfc.com with you child's name, we'll stop bothering you and offer the spot to another player

WHAT'S NEXT:

As soon as the coach give us their feedback, you will be invited to one of our teams
After you are invited, you will have to register quickly; we are about to start playing games
Depending on the team you are invited to, you will have to size and order your Puma kit ASAP; you will need it for the season that starts in September.

Girls are players too!

We strongly feel that every girls needs to be evaluated before choosing a program as the soccer landscape changes annually.

There are 10 boys for every 1 girl in youth soccer and proper team placement is so different for female athletes. Let our coaches evaluate your daughter at no charge so that we can get her on a proper level team.
